Acer Swift 7 Review

Acer owns the title of having the world’s thinnest laptop. That is right, Acer Swift 7 is world’s thinnest laptop and it is less than a centimetre thick. The laptop is really portable and this is mainly because of its thin design. The direct competitor of this laptop is HP Spectre 13. In this article, we have reviewed Acer Swift 7 in terms of design, performance and the price.
Physical Appearance of the Laptop
The laptop has a complete aluminum body which makes it durable and sturdy. It does look delicate because of its thickness but it is definitely not a delicate piece of technology. The laptop feels really premium and it weighs around 1 Kg. The heavyweight is because of the aluminum frame. There is a lot of space for resting our palms and the trackpad is really wide. The unique thing is that the laptop doesn’t have any cooling vent and this in mainly because the Intel processor used in the laptop doesn’t require a fan for cooling the processor.
Performance of the Laptop
In terms of performance, the laptop performs really well. One of the major advantages of the laptop is that the laptop doesn’t have a fan so there is no fan noise. One of the problems that we faced is that the laptop doesn’t have a backlit keyboard which makes it difficult to type in low light conditions.
We tried running several different applications on the laptop and they worked without any lag. The laptop performed well during the multitask test and we are not at all disappointed by its performance. While charging the laptop, the area above the keyboard gets a little hot but that is totally normal. The display is really bright and there was no problem while playing HD and 4K videos. The speakers are placed at the bottom and they perform their job quite well. Another advantage of this laptop is that it has an HD webcam and it was able to perform smoothly even in low light conditions. The battery of the laptop lasted 8 hours during the normal usage and 4 hours with heavy usage.

Price, Specification, and Final Verdict
The laptop has a 13.3 inch HD screen and it also has two USB Type – C ports and there is no HDMI port. As per the company, all the functions of HDMI can be used via USB adapter. The powerhouse of the laptop is i5-7Y54. The processor is complemented by 8 GB LPDDR3 RAM and the device comes loaded with Windows 10 Home edition. There are some of the pre-installed third party apps as well.

The laptop is priced at Rs 99,999 and as per our final verdict, you can buy the world’s thinnest laptop if you are not bothered about the processor. Since Swift 7 uses the previous generation of processor, some of the people might not be satisfied with the product. Overall, the product scores well in terms of design, performance and durability.
