Product Review: Zotac Zbox Magnus EN1060 Review
Zotac is known for its combined work with Nvidia and Zbox Magnus is not a laptop of a gaming console but it is a compact PC which can be carried anywhere and it is easy to set up the gaming PC in a couple of minutes. This device offers greater portability and amazing performance. These devices have motherboard, CPU, and GPU but the user needs to connect his own RAM and storage. In this article, we have reviewed this Zotac Zbox Magnus EN1060 for you.
Physical Appearance of the Zbox
The box doesn’t look very impressive in terms of design as it offers a plain and simple design. It looks more like a Set-Top box instead of a gaming PC. The design could have been a lot batter. A large power button is visible on the front panel. After unscrewing the top cover, it is possible to connect SATA disk and RAM.
Performance of the Zbox
The performance of the Zbox was upto the mark and there was no heating issue faced by us. The noise of the exhaust is also well masked and the box provides amazing resolution on thescreen. The performance also depends on the RAM and SSD. If the speed of the SSD is slow and if RAM is not enough then you could face a lot of lag while playing games. The games ran smoothly and we had no problem in running any high-resolution game. There is definitely certain speed issue while using 4K resolution. Overall, the performance had been satisfactory.
Price, Specification, and Final Verdict
Zbox has SD Card slot along with USB ports on the front. The Zbox also has two USB 2.0 and two USB 3.0 ports on the back. Along with these, the machine is also equipped with Two HDMI, Two Display ports, Ethernet slot and a Wi-Fi antenna. It is possible to connect all the display port simultaneously. Zbox doesn’t have RAM but it is possible to connect 32GB DDR4 RAM.
The box doesn’t come pre-loaded with any operating system and hence you can install windows on the box. The box has enough ports to connect almost everything ranging from a keyboard, mouse, gamepad and even a joystick. The powerhouse of Zbox is Intel i5-6400T and the GPU on board is GeForce GTX 1060 which has a 6GB VRAM. It is impossible to upgrade the processor and the GPU. They do look quite accessible but the fact is that these units can’t be accessed and hence can’t be upgraded.
Zbox is priced at Rs 73599 and the problem is that the cost is bound to rise because RAM, Harddisk and Operating system needs to be purchased in addition to the box. After including everything, the cost can easily reach over Rs 1 Lakh and the fact is that it is possible to get a gaming console with motion game in almost half the cost of this package. As per our final verdict, it is better to purchase a laptop and a gaming console then spending the entire amount on this Zbox.
